A TURKEY POEM

TURKEY

on a warm April day

azure sky

high noon

in my field of dandelions

I am astonished

by the beauty

of a wild turkey

strolling among

the yellow flowers

his feathers

agleam with light

nothing but

light

so right

looking at him

the world tilts

and I

have no choice

but to share this wild

it would have been wrong
