Imagine if a flower plague
raged across our land
eradicating the dandelion,
would we, honestly, be happy?

Imagine no more vast fields
of blossoms that open
only to the sun,
would we be glad?

What if we pronounced it

as the French do,
would we revere it more?

Celebrate when we spotted
a rare suvivor?
Would lovers adorn each other
with its golden crowns?
